Up and at it early this morning! Today was a special day for Felipe, Francisco! They are accompanying us on a trip to San Marcos La Laguna and San Juan La Laguna. We went on a private boat that we rented for the day; our first stop was San Marcos!

First we met up with Silvia and had a wonderful breakfast all together. She took us to see some of the garden projects that the village there has running. This was a prime example for Felipe, Francisco and us volunteers to see what kind of potential our own garden has. We learned what kinds of plants we need to plant, and what kinds of factors allow for a thriving garden project!! We will keep all of the advice and ideas in mind, ready for tomorrow when we go back to our garden in Chukmuk.

Up next: San Juan La Laguna. Here we went into many galleries and saw local artists to learn more about different painting/art techniques.

Next we went and participated in a natural dying and weaving class.
