However they do not supply the stoves to cook the food on, the pots to cook it in or the tables to make it on. Over the last few year Aldea Maya has purchased the pots and several stoves.

Unfortunately there was a hole in the roof and the metal stoves rusted severally. We are going to see what we can do to salvage these stoves. Presently the women are cooking on 4 massive fire pit., It is totally dangerous.

We have heard that a Guatemalan stove company is starting a school industrial wood burning stove program. We took these pictures and hope to get at least one free stove.  We have a generous donation from Qualicum Rotary that will help us improve the cooking area.
