As today is the last day in the village for this trip we finished by tying up loose ends. Jim visited several homes and worked on improving their plumbing problems….mostly changing water taps. Without properly working taps the families find it difficult to water their vege gardens. He took Diego along and taught him some basic plumbing techniques. Diego is soaking up all the new knowledge like a sponge.

We were also able to purchase a new gas stove for the Home Economics program thanks to Nanaimo Day Break Rotary and Karen H.

It was sad saying good- bye to the Basico students. At Aldea Maya we are so grateful to all the generous people that bought Christmas cards. We have over 30 students just in grade 7 this year. Over 90% of them could not be able to attend the middle school if it was not for receiving free school supplies.
