Today was REALLY busy. Aldea Maya and it’s volunteers handed out school supplies to over 100 students. We have 75 fully sponsored students plus we give supplies to all the students attending the Chuk Muk Basico.
Aldea Maya helps every student going to the Chuk Muk to receive a back pack and their supplies. We are able to do this by selling our Christmas cards. The students receive expensive items like : scientific calculators, Spanish dictionaries, Spanish/English dictionaries.
Usually we cannot afford to give the students USB memory sticks but a generous donation by the Insurance Corporations of B.C. of 100 USB’s made it possible. We were also able to give every student a tooth brush thanks to a fantastic donation from Dr Gill in Qualicum. And toothpaste thanks to Dr. Spenst in Red Deer.
Here is Concepcion holding many bottles of sunscreen. Concepcion is allergic to the sun, Her body was covered in sores wherever the sun touched her skin. For the last 2 years she has been receiving sunscreen and her skin is smooth and not bright red. She REALLY wants to thank everyone who donates sunscreen.

In the afternoon a group of our high school students helped Carlos Rodrigues paint a mural on 2 of the walls in the new preschool classroom.
This mural is so gorgeous and the students just loved the experience. Carlos is wanting to return in February and give art classes to some of the talented students.
