Today we spent in Chukumuk.

Jim met with Lisandro, our sponsor student, and Pedro. Both of them had received bikes several years ago. Jim showed both of them how to fix and maintain their bicycles.

Here I am buying fresh vegetables for the meeting with the parents tonight. I decide to buy enough so the Basico 2 & 1 students can try ceviche as well.

The students then surprised our group with a performance where they sang a song they had wrote about me. They used the guitars and other instruments from the music program. They performed a traditional play in which they had made their masks and outfits. It was awesome. They wore traditional clothing and preformed a traditional dance. We got it videoed on our phone and will try to put it on the website.

We then had a meeting with the teachers and they told us there vision for the school. What items they really need for next year to keep the school improving. We will get a list on the website.

This was one of the most amazing evenings of my life.

Here is Miriam with her tea light powered LED light. Her family can not afford electricity so this light will help her study and allow her family not to be in darkness at 5:30 every evening.

This JOI lantern was donated by ” Independent Marine Supply Store” in Coombs B.C. One of our many supporters in District 69.
