Today was totally awesome. Aldea Maya was able to give the 57 students ( whom are not sponsored) in the Chuk Muk Basico their supplies for one year. Without our assistance 90% of these students would not be studying past grade 6. I would like to send out a huge thank you to Shirley P in Port Alberni for helping 8 students every year with their supplies.

Every student has to give 4 beaded items as payment for their supplies. In this way they have helped ” pay” for their supplies and they are not a handout. The students also have to give 10 volunteer hours in the elementary school helping struggling students. Lucia records what each family makes and we often purchase beadwork from the families later in the year.
