Today is an exciting day as we are gifting 6 stoves to 6 families who are very excited.  We arrive at the ware house in the back  of a truck and realize that we are the Canadian forklifts.  The stoves are heavy and they are concrete.  Two of us carry the pieces and we are once again team from Alberta.  Stoves are made in pieces,  consisting of 11 concrete blocks, cement top, pumice sand, stove pipes and metal stove stops, which would remind you of our old wood stoves.  Some of the families helped load as well.  All aboard, stoves and all volunteers  are now squished into the back of truck.

The stoves are installed by Proyecto estufa Onil, Asociacion Cojolya, an organization you can find on the internet if you wish for more information.  This is a husband and wife team. The husband Cameron installs and his wife Esa educates the families in maintenance of stove.  This stove takes 1/3 cord of wood compared to their former stoves which take 2 cords of wood which costs the families cannot afford. The smoke from the original stoves causes many health issues, lung, eyes and you can imagine the other.

The afternoon was shoveling , shoveling, and sifting and wheel barrowing rocks we sifted out of the dirt. We feel like Canadian bobcats and back hoes.
