The stove Christmas card sales and a donations from Alberta are enabling Aldea Maya to put in more energy efficient wood burning stoves. We are working with a wonderful charity in Santiago Atitlan. They give us an amazing price on stoves and run a wonderful follow up and education program.

We visited the 6 families that are receiving stoves next week. The Alberta girls are really excited about installing them next Thursday.

Each family is giving 8 beaded items for receiving the stoves. We sell the items and use the money to pay for the cement blocks each stove requires and the transportation.

The Alberta Girls ( from now on just AG) brought down hockey bags full of donations. One bag was full of volley / soccer / basket.balls,  Plus pumps and a net. We got the balls pumped and the AG introduced Volleyball to the Chuk Muk Basico 2 students. It was a ton of fun and some of the students really picked up bumping and volleying quite fast.
